Liberation Group has collected four prestigious awards in the last seven days, establishing the company as a leading brewer and pubs business among peers from around the world.

Last week the Company was runner up with a "Highly Commended" in the Publican Awards for Regional Brewer of the Year. Liberation Group was run up to Fullers, in what was one of the most fiercely fought categories.

This week Liberation Group received three medals at the Brewing Industry International Awards. The BIIA is the oldest in the industry’s history, having first run in 1886. It now attracts entries from all around the world, including Japan, America, Canada and Europe. To win a medal at the Awards is considered to be the ultimate achievement for a brewer, because the beers were all judged by the industry itself at an exhaustive tasting in Burton on Trent in February.

Liberation Group took gold in International Dark Beers for Mary Ann Best Bitter; gold in International Cask Conditioned Ale for Liberation Ale and silver in International Keg Ale for Mary Ann Best Bitter.

The medals were collected by Paul Hurley, Peter Corcoran and Pat Dean of Liberation Brewery. Head Brewer Paul Hurley, who was also a judge at the competition, said: "To pick up three medals among such fantastic competition is an immense achievement for our ales, and our team. We have been brewing beer for 140 years and we still follow the same craft and quality control that has made our ales as good as they can be. We like them, and these medals are proof that our industry peers think they are pretty good too."

The awards were presented at a gala industry lunch held at London’s Guildhall.

A delighted Mark Crowther, Chief Executive of the Liberation Group commented on the past week saying "What an amazing seven days for the business, our 500 employees, our customers and for the Channel Islands - it is fantastic to be leading such a winning team!".
