The Liberation Group, the largest pub and drinks industry group in the Channels Islands has appointed a marketing executive to work in both bailiwicks.
Jersey-born Joanna Reed assumed her new role on 1 September and is based in the group’s Jersey office in the Old Chamber of Commerce Building in the Royal Square. Educated at the Jersey College for Girls, Miss Reed studied Marketing with Media at De Montfort University in Leicester achieving a 2.1 honours degree.
The Chief Executive of the Liberation Group, Mark Crowther, said they were delighted to appoint Miss Reed. ‘Jo has hit the ground running as she familiarises herself with all the aspects of the business in both islands. Her breadth of experience gained from working in a variety of industries, and for some leading brands in the UK, can only be beneficial for the Liberation Group,’ he said.
Miss Reed said she was happy to be home and working for a company that was going from strength to strength. ‘I am really excited to be working for the Liberation Group and I am looking forward to working with Mark and all the staff in Jersey and Guernsey to promote such a diverse business across the Channel Islands and on the mainland. The first month has been hectic but absolutely satisfying as I have travelled around meeting such interesting people. This is a great job and I am enjoying every day,’ she said.
Miss Reed was selected for the Institute of Direct Marketing’s fast track program which gave her a valuable grounding in the business. Her first position was in London where she worked as an account executive for EHS Brann, one of the largest direct marketing, data and digital communications groups. Her clients included FIRSTPLUS, Barclays, and Top Shop. She moved to digital agency The Bio Agency in January 2008 where her clients included IBIS hotels, EDF Energy, Santander, Wateraid, Everest, the National Trust and the AA.
