The Liberation Group is running a special competition, with the support of Durrell, to celebrate the launch of the beer, It's Time, produced by the Jersey brewery to toast the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust's 50th anniversary next year (2009). The winning family will receive a voucher to spend on food and drinks for two adults and two children at either the Cock and Bottle, Dix Neuf, Five Oaks Eating House, St Mary's Country Inn or the Trinity Arms. Entry forms can be found in Durrell's visitor centre, where there is also a special box in which to pop completed entries.
The Liberation Group's chief executive Mark Crowther said they were thrilled to be involved right from the start in what promises to be an action packed year for Durrell. He hopes that all Island families who visit Durrell over the holidays will take part in the competition.
'Working with Durrell is a pleasure and sales have been going well since it went on sale last month, so we expect it to be a winner,' he said.
It's Time is described as well balanced with a sweet, malty taste. It is being produced in 500ml bottles which will be sold at £2.49 each.
It's Time success was celebrated last Thursday when guests were invited to Durrell to sample the beer and meet the brewer, Paul Hurley. Marketing manager for Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, Kelly Manuel, said they were delighted that the partnership with the Liberation Group had got off to such a good start.
She said: The 'It's Time' beer is the start of so many activities and events that Durrell has planned for its 50th anniversary during 2009. I am delighted that this product has been so well received and helps Durrell to raise awareness as well as generating further income. The Liberation Group have been extremely supportive and we wish them well in their future endeavours, including the Christmas beer!
Jersey Brewery has entered into the Christmas spirit of the Fête dé Noué by producing festive real ale featuring a classic local ingredient. Jersey's traditional Black Butter has been added to the casks to add seasonal spice to the brew.
