Herm Strikes Liquid Gold

Fans of real ale in the islands may want to take a trip over to Herm.

The Liberation Brewery has brewed a new beer especially for the island.

Called Herm Island Gold, it is only available there but locals are already raving about it. The beer is 4.2% alcohol and light-golden in colour, as the name suggests.

Tom Jones, the manager of the Mermaid Tavern said: "We had our beer festival back in May and the brew that was made for us for our Herm Island beer on the day was the one that went first and everybody had said how good it was to have a Herm Island ale. So we approached our suppliers and asked them could they create a Herm Island ale for us to sell here".
