Drink a pint for our Heroes

War veterans in need of a break will benefit from two initiatives being run by Liberation Group in the Channel Islands this Liberation Day.

Throughout the special weekend Liberation Group will donate 10p from every pint of its award-winning Liberation Ale bought at selected outlets (listed below)in both Bailiwicks, to Holidays For Heroes.

Liberation Group is a proud supporter of the local charity, raising funds and offering support throughout the year, but May 9th is obviously a special date for Channel Islanders and the company wants to mark it by doing something more. The 10p donation was hugely successful last year but for 2011 the company is going even further: when people log on to Liberation Group's Facebook page – Tastetoday Channelislands – and click the "like" button, a further 25p will be donated to Holidays For Heroes.

Mark Crowther, CEO of Liberation Group, said: "We are a Channel Island company with a long and rich history and Liberation Day is important to our staff, our customers and our partners. We try to help local causes as much as possible, but Holidays For Heroes is particularly close to us and the Liberation weekend is obviously an appropriate time for us to show our support."

Richard Woodhouse of Holidays For Heroes said: "Holidays for Heroes is so grateful to the Liberation Group for their support on Liberation Day, their continuing help has enabled us to fund a further 218 holidays for 2011. Our third holiday week this year commences on Saturday 7th May when a party of 27 heroes, their spouses or partners and two young children arrive for a well deserved break in our beautiful Island. Our success is due to the generosity we receive from Islanders and the local business community, Liberation Group is a great example of that spirit. We will enjoy a Liberation Ale, knowing that it helps to raise funds for the heroes."

The initiatives will run from Saturday to Monday and all funds raised will go to Holidays For Heroes.
